A Russian assistant in a flight helmet feeds a young Siberian Crane in the national park outside a Russian city of Ryazan, August 3, 2002. The head of the "Siberian Migration" project Italian pilot Angelo d'Arrigo plans, as part of research into the origins of instinctive flight, to guide in a hand-glider a flock of captivity-bred Siberian Cranes along their traditional migratory route from Siberia, across Kazakhstan all the way to Iran, for a total distance of 5,500 km (3,400 miles) later this year.
