An Iraqi police officer, trained by U.S. Marines, displays arrest techniques to recruits of a new police force, tasked with guarding the city's holy sites, in Najaf September 17. The Najaf Shrine Police are given three days training in searching cars and individuals, making arrests and generally maintaining security in areas which the U.S.-led occupying forces cannot access because of religious sensitivities.
