Colt AR15 5.56 mm self-loading rifle. The Armalite AR-15 self-loading rifle was adopted for limited issue to British forces in Malaya in 1961. Later versions, the M16A1 and A2, were adopted by the Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) and were in use with D and G Squadrons, 22 SAS, during the Falklands War (1982).
