Smog blankets Hong Kong's airport town of Tung Chung on the morning of September 10, 2002. The general air pollution index (API) reached a record high of 185 in Tung Chung September 9, just two weeks after the API hit 181. Thick smog has blanketed Hong Kong since last week, a clear sign that the territory and southern China are still a long way from cleaning up their bad air.
