A full-length portrait of a young boy, standing, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, his lelft hand rests on a table, on the right, which is covered with a gold cloth, on which his hat is placed; he wears a black coat and breeches edged with gold, lace ruff and cuffs and buckskin boots; a classical archway behind with red drapes to the left, and a view of a balustrade with a distant horizon. 1909 inventory calls this 'Wm III as a boy, school of Van Dyck'. 1930 inventory describes it as 'William III after Van Sonmer' .
