Twenty-two tourists from Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Israel and Australia ride in a Bolivian government bus at the end of their ordeal in the Andean town of Sorata, 148 kilometers from La Paz, where they were trapped for 20 days by poor farmers setting up roadblocks to demand tractors and greater assistance from the government, at a police checkpoint near La Paz, February 21, 2002. The tourists took advantage of a four-day truce between farmers and the government to slip through the roadblocks and reach La Paz.
