Given by Queen Victoria to Princess Victoria Mary ("May") of Teck (1867-1953) (later Queen Mary) shortly after her marriage in 1893 to Prince George (1865-1936) Duke of York (later King George V); after Queen Mary's 5 children, Edward VIII (b.1894), George VI (b.1895), Princess Royal (b.1897), Duke of Gloucester (b.1900), Duke of Kent (b.1902) and Prince John (b.1905)) had all grown up, she placed the cradle at Osborne in the 1920's; made by Mr Reed of East Cowes, Isle of Wight and purchased by Queen Victoria at a charity bazaar in 1893; vintage postcard of the 1920's;
