Francesco d'Antonio del Chierico

Italian painter, 1433-1484

Worked for the most important patrons of his day: Cosimo il Vecchio and Piero I de' Medici, Lorenzo the Magnificent, Federigo II da Montefeltro, Ferdinand I, King of Naples, Louis XI of France, and Matthias Corvius, King of Hungary. He decorated texts of all kinds and sizes, such as Petrarch's Triumphs, Pliny's Natural History, choir-books for the cathedrals in Florence and Pistoia.
