Jacob More

English painter, 1740-1793

Died 1 October 1793. More worked and lived in Rome, Italy, from 1773 to 1793. He was a protégé of Prince Marcantonio Borghese IV, and in collaboration with Pietro Camporese the Elder, he remodelled the gardens of the Villa Borghese, Rome. More exhibited with the Society of Artists of London from 1771 or from 1775, and at the Royal Academy in London from 1783 or from 1784. Scottish landscape painter and landscape architect.
