Islam has two major annual festivals, a smaller one known as the Seker (Sugar) Bayram at the end of Ramadan and a greater one, which takes place approximately 70 days after, known as the Kurban Bayram (Feast of the Sacrifice); the celebrations include visits to family graves, the sacrifice of an animal, usually a sheep, sharing the meat with family and also poor people, wearing new clothes, gifts for children and having fun on swings and merry-go-rounds; illustration from a series of promotional cards produced by a manufacturer of Chicory products, Arlatte & Cie, Cambrai;
