The Marquis of Montespan, Louis Henri (Louis-Henri) de Pardaillan de Gondrin (1640-1691) (on the left) came to propose to the marriage of Francoise Athenais (Francoise-Athenais) of Rochechouart Mortemart (then Marquise de Montespan or Madame de Montespan, 1640-1707) in 1663. He was accompanied by Francoise's father and sister, Gabriel de Rochechouart de Mortemart (1600-1677) and Marie Madeleine Gabrielle Adelaide de Rochechouart de Mortemart (Marie-Madeleine-Gabrielle) (1645-1704).
