Sassetti Chapel (Cappella Sassetti), by Domenico Ghirlandaio, 1482-1486, 15th Century, fresco Whole artwork view. At the center of the back wall, above the altar, there is the painting of a posthumous miracle attributed to St. Francis, who raised a child fell from a window of the Palazzo Spini in Piazza Santa Trinita; the child sits on his bier in the middle of the painting, in profile with folded hands, while St. Francis blesses him from heaven and his mother is approaching; on both sides of the scene there are groups of people witnessing the miracle, with the daughters of Francesco Sassetti on the left, and their husbands or boyfriends on the right, preceded by two monks kneeling; the last man in the front row on the left with a hand on his hip is a self-portrait of Domenico Ghirlandaio; on the right, the portraits of some wealthy Florentine: Maso degli Albizzi, Agnolo Acciaiuoli, Palla Strozzi, Neri di Gino Capponi, Agnolo Poliziano, Bartolomeo Fonzio; in the lower part of the wall there is the altarpiece representing the Adoration of the Shepherds, with the portraits of Francesco Sassetti and his wife on its sides Domenico Ghirlandaio Church of Santa Trinita
