Sassetti Chapel (Cappella Sassetti), by Domenico Ghirlandaio, 1483-1485, 15th Century, fresco Whole artwork view. The chapel of the rich Florentine banker Francesco Sassetti is located at the end of the right transept of the Church of Santa Trinita; the gothic chapel, characterized by a pointed arch and vaults, was decorated during the Renaissance with frescoes of Domenico Ghirlandaio; inside it are kept the basalt sarcophagi of Francesco Sassetti and his wife Nera Corsi, located under a stone arch decorated with bas-reliefs and gilding of Giuliano da Sangallo; the portraits of the two deceased are painted on the altar wall, on the side of the altarpiece representing the Adoration of the Shepherds Domenico Ghirlandaio Church of Santa Trinita
