Creator: Golden, Grace Lydia (1904-93) Women, children and men wait to be seen at a food office in a converted theatre, London, 1941. A sign at a desk reads: 'Ration Book Enquiries'. Grace Golden was a British official war artist who had studied at the Royal College of Art and been a book illustrator. Her work during the Second World War documented London street scenes and factories. Golden's illustrations were used for the Ministry of Information and posters for the General Post Office.
