Four Brazilians, who set ablaze and killed Indian tribesman Galdino, were convicted early on Saturday of third-degree murder and sentenced to 14 years in prison in a widely watched trial charged with race and class issues. A seven-member jury opted for the severest of possible verdicts against the defendants, who in April 1997 poured alcohol fuel on a sleeping Galdino Jesus dos Santos and set him on fire.
