The pair were protesting against the U.S. government's arrest and prosecution of patients who use marijuana for medical reasons and their providers. McVay and Thomas are calling for U.S. President Bush to pardon Byron Epis who was convicted and will soon be sentenced to a mandatory minimum of ten years in federal prison, for growing medical marijuana for his back pain, and to providing it to other seriously ill people.
