A portrait of the daughter of Colonel Peregrine Palmer and wife of Sir Thomas Wroth (1584 - 1672) as a middle-aged woman, three-quarter- length, standing, turned to the left; gazing at spectator, her pale brown hair drawn tightly back at the forehead with shoulder length curls on either side of her face. Her hands are clasped around her waist. She is wearing a pearl necklet and a copper green silk dress with full long sleeves revealing a white silk lining. She also wears a pink mantle draped over her shoulders. A wooded scene behind with a tree just behind her and a distant landscape view with sky, through the trees to the left.
