A Forage Fatigue ‘Bono Johnny’. Watercolour by Second Lieutenant W T Markham (1830-1886), 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade, Crimean War, 1854 (c). The soldier to the rear holds water pails, behind the horse a man in brown robes and a turban follows holding a stick and leading two oxon.
