Disaster in Codogno (colour litho)

Disaster in Codogno. A terrible catastrophe took place at the station of this Lombard city. The fast Milan-Rome, launched at 130 km per hour, hit a truck that remained prisoner between the bars of a level crossing. After the collision, the driving car deflected and went to clash against the pylon of an overpass breaking into three sections, the first ended up on a side track, the second knocks down another pylon, the third continued its run. In the disaster, the truck driver, fourteen passengers died and more than thirty were injured. Illustration for La Domenica Del Corriere, 22 December 1957.
