THE DEATH OF THE BANDITO SALVATORE GIULIANO - SUNDAY OF THE COURIER 1950

Salvatore GIULIANO (16 November 1922 - 5 July 1950) "The end of a fatal myth. The bandit Giuliano, who for seven years, at the head of a band of criminals, had beaten the area of Montelepre in Sicily, killing, blackmailing, terrorizing the population, was surrounded in Castelvetrano by the police of Colonel Luca and killed in conflict, inside a courtyard, by Captain Perenze ". The facts, as described in the press release of the Banditian Repression Forces Command, date back to 5 July. Some inconsistencies found in an inquiry by L'Europeo journalist Tommaso Besozzi, however, would favor the attribution of the murder to his right-hand man Gaspare Pisciotta, who incidentally accused himself during the trial for the Portella della Ginestra massacre.
