Image description

Open backed birch veneered plywood dining chair, designed by Jasper Morrison, 1988 and manufactured by Vitra. It is made with 15-layer ply (including two veneers), with two side frames joined by cross members. The back of the chair is of curved serpentine form as is the top rail, whereas the front legs and seat rail are squared. There are Posidrive/Phillips screws (not hidden) from centre of each seat rail to hold cross piece sub-structure, which allows a certain amount of give to the thin seat (3 ply).
