Image description: The church tower was built in the 14th century and was most likely the central tower of the church. The church had been rebuilt in 1777 and pulled down in 1923. The masonry is flint and rubble, with pointed arches in each of the three walls. The south wall is gone, and the mid 20th century tower blocks around the tower were built as a post-war development. St Alphege's House in the background dates to the late 1950's and was demolished in the 21st century.
