E.1956.1.b COSTUME coat: pelisse 1825 silk, cotton, hand-stitched overall: 1380 mm x 520 mm Woman's coat or pelisse, said to be a wedding pelisse, in light blue silk woven with a pattern of small leaves against a satin ground. Standing collar with curved corner at front, blue satin ungathered frill around edge with piped seam, two rouleaux diagonally curving to shoulder. Full-length sleeves with blue satin bands around cuffs with double button decoration. Skirt, full-length, open at front, fullness gathered into back, rouleaux around hem. Bodice lined with cotton, collar and skirt with light blue silk.
