Video description

Excellent footage shot by Damien Parer in Papua New Guinea, subsequently edited to make the Academy Award winning documentary film 'Kokoda Front Line!'. Parer, a daring photographer, travelled with and lived as a soldier whilst on the job as a photographer and cinematographer for the Australian Department of Information in World War Two, and so was able to capture incredible scenes of men and conditions in which they lived and fought.
