May 05, 1953 - Large and small shells are used by German missionaries with the papuas on New-Guinea to replace organs. They are blowing chorales on them. They are also using a special sound and note-syste invented by them as there may only one sound be blown on one shell. The shell - chorus being similar to the trombon- ~ ~ ~ ~ in its sound can, on the whole world, be found on two places ~ ~ ~ ~ ~: in New-Guinea (the second largest island in the world in the North of Austrlia) and in the Middle-Frankonian place Neuendettelsau where there is a training - school for missionaries. At the occasion of the looth anniversary of the foundation of the Menendettelsau institution the shell-chorus gave a special performance for the present guests. Our picture shows some scene of the chorus with the shell. the largest of which has the size of an adult person.
