Olympic Games '72: Mourning ceremony for victims of assassination

Mourning ceremony for the victims of the assassination at the Olympic Games in the Olympic Stadium of Munich on the 6th of September in 1972. Delegates of the teams take position on the field, the Olympic flag flies at half mast. Arabic terrorists of the group "Black September" had entered the village in the morning of the 5th of September in 1972, overwhelmed nine athletes and shot two. Their ultimatum: Release of two hundred captured Palestinians and free withdrawal with the remaining hostages. In the evening, the terrorists and the hostages took a helicopter to the military airbase Fuerstenfeldbruck. Hours later, the release operation failed. All nine hostages, five terrorists and one policeman from Munich were killed, three terrorists injured and overwhelmed.
