Four Papua New Guinea University students, who did not wish to disclose their identities, stand together after a media conference in Sydney's state parliament July 5, 2001. The students said that four of their colleagues killed during protests against economic reforms were mowed down by police while they had their hands in the air. The police in the South Pacific nation have denied responsiblity for the deaths last week, which occured after police used tear gas to break up a six-day student-led protest against IMF and World Bank-backed privatisations.
