RUSSIAN AN-124 CARRYING US SPY PLANE ARRIVES IN GEORGIA, 2001-07-05 (photo)

A Russian AN-124 cargo jet carrying the U.S. Navy EP-3 spy plane comes in for landing at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia on July 5, 2001. The American spy plane that was at the center of a diplomatic standoff between the United States and China was flown to a Georgia air base, where it is expected to be reassembled so that it can be returned to service. Security was tight as a huge Russian Antonov cargo plane carrying the fuselage of the $80 million EP-3, which was held on China's Hainan Island since April, touched down at Dobbins Air Reserve Base.
