The film is the chronicle of the march of brotherhood and peace that took place from Perugia to Assisi on September 24, 1961, and which saw a great popular participation.
Over 20,000 people attended the event: personalities of political and cultural life, representatives of all regions of Italy, young people, women, workers.
The march, which unfolded in the Umbrian hills, ended at sunset with an invitation to all men who want peace to unite to demand the cessation of nuclear tests of all kinds, the general disarmament, collaboration among peoples.
Among the speakers at the rally are Aldo Capitini, Guido Piovene and Renato Guttuso; Mario Alicata and Franco Ferri are also present. Italo Calvino (not framed) and Giovanni Arpino open the procession. In the background, the song “The Vulture” written by Italo Calvino himself with Sergio Liberovici in 1958.
