Adolf Herbst ist embraced by his girlfriend Dagmar Waletzko in an ambulance, after he and his colleagues had been buried alive on the 24th of October in 1963 in 60 metres depth for fourteen days. Five hundred people witnessed the most dramatic rescue operation of the German mining with a "Dahlbusch Bomb" on the 7th of November in 1963. Eleven miners could be rescued, twenty-nine did not survive.
