Hollywood, California: 1934. The record setting Burlington Route Pioneer Zypher. The original RKO-Radio movie was loosely based on this train's record run of 13 hours from Denver to Chicago. Standing in front of the locomotive is Anne Shirley, the 16 year old star of 'Anne of Green Gables', who says 'It would be a pleasure even to be run down by such a perfect train as this Silver Streak'. The Burlington Route nose plate was changed for the film.
