A full-length portrait of Charles II as a young boy, in a dark interior, standing and striding forward, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, with natural shoulder-length dark hair, wearing steel armour, a lace collar and the blue sash of the Order of the Garter. His right hand rests on a staff in front of a plumed helmet, his left hand holds the hilt of a sword. Lyme Park, Cheshire (Accredited Museum)
