St Francis kneels in profile at the right, a breviary and bundle in front of him, his staff resting against his right shoulder; behind is his attribute of a sun with the letters TAS visible (the final letters of the word Charitas). St Anthony stands at the left behind the Madonna, reading his breviary, a sprig of lily on the steps in front of him.
