A three-quarter-length portrait of Julius Drewe's mother who married Reverend George Smith (1818 - 1880), son of George Drew (1790-1867) in 1845. She is seated wearing a black dress with a white flowing shawl and cap, reclining against a red cushion on a high backed 17th century chair. Painted two years after sitter's death [?] - could be Mrs Frances Richardson of Burbage, Derbyshire, mother-in-law of Julius Drewe. Castle Drogo, Devon (Accredited Museum)
