War in Egypt. The offensive suddenly launched by Israeli troops on the Sinai front, an offensive that wanted to be a retaliatory action against the Egyptians for the attacks of their death commandos, followed the Anglo-French ultimatum to the governments of Israel and Egypt. Having rejected this ultimatum, Anglo-French airborne forces opened the bombing against the Egyptian coasts, a bombing that was to prelude the descent of paratroopers and the landing of wards intended for operations for the occupation of the key points of the Suez Canal.
