Image description: The dramas of the mountains. Two engaged couples on a trip on the Presanella, while crossing a glacier, fell into a crevasse. The man could hold on to the icy wall with the help of the ice axe and the woman clung to him. But after a while the forces left her and the poor woman fell into the chasm from which, after three hours, she was extracted dead. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 15 August 1948.
