'Anarchy is a helper of reaction and famine', 'Kunstanstalt O. Consée, Munich' and 'Schnackenberg Dec. 18. ', A very rare political image of Schnackenberg, whose work generally consisted of actors and cabarets in Munich. His ironic, decadent style was a precursor to the Mannerist style of the 1920s. It was Art Deco without the recognizable geometric and cubist elements, with a tendency to exaggerate and away from turn-of-the-century realism. In the post-war years, in the shadow of the sinking empire and the political and social unrest that followed, Schnackenberg designed his only political poster. There are two text variants, the present one warning against anarchists and the other against Bolsheviks.
