As Guatemalan textiles became popular with tourists, new forms and materials were introduced that would appeal to a collector. This table runner was made by weavers at the ProTeGe cooperative using natural dyes that are no longer common. ProTeGe is a project administered by the Ixchel Museum of Textiles in Guatemala City and aims to provide weavers with a sustainable livelihood by providing them materials and suggested forms in exchange for their weaving skill. The products of ProTeGe are sold in the Ixchel Museum;
