Cartel of the left: “Here it is, the silver wall: The cartel fell because its poltiqiue led the franc to shipwreck and the mass of the small and large franc bearers rushed to the counters of the savings boxes and banks. If the cartel returned it would be the same panic, the same desastres and it would break on the same wall!...” The 200 wealthiest families in France take part in bank offices to exchange their vouchers in order to prevent the Banque de France from continuing to support the Cartel les Gauches. This led to the fall of the government. The “silver wall” refers to the opposition of banks and financial circles to any economic reform of the government of Edouard Herriot.
