A Turkish nurse Sema Bulte is pulled out of rubble by the French and Turkish rescue workers late August 20 in the western Turkish town of Golcuk. Bulte and her husband and pharmacist Ahmet were rescued alive from the debris of their seven-storey apartment building, in which they were living in the fifth floor before the powerful earthquake rocked western Turkish cities. The death toll has reached 11,386, and the injured are numbered around 33,000 people. The United Nations said on Friday it understood that the final death toll from Tuesday's quake, would be around 40,000. FS/NS/
