Two mounted knights in jousting armor for two different types of course: with target shield (targe) 220 and with great helm (heaume) 221. Knight in jousting armor on blue striped caparisoned horse with a blazon of a small boy on top of a cloud holding a lance 221. Knight on a pink caparisoned horse with heraldic decorations of the letter D, birds and a golden birdcage 220. In the course, the knight aimed his lance at a particular spot on the opponent's breastplate: when this button was hit, a metal plate was shot into the air (shown in the plate as golden fragments above the knights). Copied from Marcus Vulson de la Colombiere’s Le vrai theatre d’honneur et de chevalerie, 1638.
