Image description

South Korean children play beneath a statue honouring U.S., United Nations, and South Korean soldiers who died during the amphibious assault on the then North Korean-held port of Inchon September 15, 46 years ago today. The assault, which turned the tide of the 1950-53 Korean war in the favour of South Korea and her allies, was engineered by U.S. General Douglas McArthur who is still considered by the majority of South Koreans to be one of the greatest military men in history.
