Arthur Pond (London 1701 – Rome 1758). Oil painting on canvas, Susannah Hoare, Countess of Ailesbury (1732 - 1783) by Arthur Pond (London c.1700 – Rome 1758), signed and dated Pond pinxit 1757. A half-length oval painted portrait of a dark-haired woman, the daughter of Henry Hoare II, looking to the left, wearing a green and black dress with pink bow and a featherd hat. The costume is similar to that in the full-length portrait painted by Rubens of his wife, Helena Fourment, now in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. Stourhead, Wiltshire (Accredited Museum)
