Sergio STAINO (8 June 1940 - 21 October 2023) satirical illustrator, cartoonist, journalist. He collaborated with various newspapers including L'Unità, La Stampa, il Messaggero, Il Corriere della Sera and many others. In 1979 he founded and directed the satirical magazine Tango. Film director for the films "Cavalli si nasce" (1988) and "Don't call me Omar" (1992). For a very short period he was also a left-wing politician. His most famous character is Bobo, moderately autobiographical and a member of the Communist Party of which he confidently follows all the changes in name while demonstrating a vaguely conservative tendency of the former. Bobo acts together with other family members, sometimes in a strip, sometimes in a single cartoon with a lightning punch.
