A mini bus in which the driver died, is lifted from the accident scene where the debris of a British truck can be seen behind (R) at Pian San Giacomo near the southern end of the St. Bernhard tunnel October 25, 2001. The truck carrying reels of thread crashed into the mini bus and a second car. The accident cut off a second main transit route through the Swiss Alps the day after two trucks burst into flames inside the Gotthard tunnel.
