A Chinese beautician explains the benefits of long-lasting lipstick imported from the United States to a couple in a Beijing department store January 30. The Clinton administration is urging congress to grant Beijing favourable access to U.S. markets - so-called permanent normal trade relations (NTR) status in order to bring it in to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) this year. Clinton says that China's entry to the WTO will open Chinese markets to U.S. goods, but opposition labour groups fear that a new flood of cheap Chinese exports after China joins will destroy jobs.
