Job seekers warm their hands against the cold as they wait beside the road for employers seeking casual labour near Khayelitsha township in Cape Town, May 30, 2003. Each day thousands of unemployed men wait at the sites scattered across the city in the hope of gaining casual work in the construction and farming industries.
