Oceanografic, Europe's biggest oceanarium with 45,000 living creatures of 500 different species and covering an area of 110,000 square metres with 42,000 litres of water, the equivalent to 15 Olympic swimming pools, was opened to the public last February 15. The aquarium recreates the world's most important marine ecosystems so as to enable research and teaching involving the water environment, and to contribute to the protection of marine life.
