With the help of Swiss Mountain Aid, construction work is carried out on the Vorderrhein near Surrhein in the canton of Graubuenden. With horses stones and logs are brought on sledges to the river bank and used there. This is intended to protect the village and the Aecker from the recurring floods, recorded in winter conditions on 13 and 14 January 1945.
