The Swiss physicist Auguste Piccard in the gondola of his balloon, recorded in 1932. Together with Belgian Max Cosyns, he started the second Stratosphere flight in Duebendorf on 18 August 1932 and landed one day later near Volta on Lake Garda. They reached a record height of over 16000 meters in the stratosphere. For their flight, they use a ball-shaped pressure cabin, which was attached to a huge balloon. Apart from numerous images of this height not previously photographed, the scientists brought proof that it is possible for people to stay at extreme heights with the help of pressure booths.
